Mother’s Day 2010
Posted on May 10, 2010
On Sunday, May 9, 2010, Phillip Weems and I had the opportunity to present a song that we had written for Mother’s Day. It was a meditation on Proverbs 31 and how parents have the greatest impact on their kids during the most critical times of their lives. Specifically, this song refers to birth, new birth (salvation) and, finally, the death of the parent.
Thanks to Phillip for writing this song with me. It was a blessing to us and to our church as well.

FBC Abbeville Mission::New Orleans Wrap Up Video from Ryan Johnson on Vimeo.
We had the opportunity to serve the church in New Orleans March 25-28, 2009. During this time, FBC Abbeville helped renovate All Nations Fellowship on Napoleon Avenue. This church building was formerly occupied by Napoleon Avenue Methodist Church. I was able to find some older pictures from the congregation that used to be there. I have incorporated these pictures into this video to show how God is work in New Orleans, doing a new work for his glory.
The song that is playing in the background of the video is Chris Tomlin’s version of “God of this City”. This song is perfect for New Orleans because of the vision that God has given many for the recreation of the city.
