5th Quarter Dodgeball @ FBC
This year our 5th Quarter’s have been awesome! We started out with the Abbeville Gladiator and then this past Friday night we played Dodgeball! Thankfully, no one was hurt this year (sorry John…)! In order to raise funds for our Christmas in August Lottie Moon emphasis, our former intern, Tim Mathis, sought to break the world record for the number of t-shirts worn at one time. The current record stands at 155 shirts. Tim made a valiant effort, putting on 81 t-shirts, ranging from size Youth Small to 4XL. This past week, Mandy and I had the opportunity to take the girls down to Gulf Shores, AL. It had been quite a long time since I had been down there, but we all thoroughly enjoyed our vacation time there. We did spend time on the beach, and for those of you who know me, I hate the beach. However, it is hard to not have fun with the Johnson girls, no matter where you are. So, aside from a little bit of sunburn, some salt water in the face, and a few meltdowns in going to and from the beach, our time spent there was great. We had a great time on our Whitewater trip this year. As we did last year, we drove up to Ocoee, TN on Thursday and stayed with Outdoor Adventure Rafting Then, on Friday morning, we woke up and had our very own Whitewater Volleyball Tournament (click here to see the pics) and went tubing later in the afternoon. Then, on Saturday, we woek up early and rafted the entire Upper and Middle Ocoee River, which was over 10.5 miles and took us around 6 hours (click here to see the pics). Disciple Now 2009 at FBC-Abbeville was wonderful! We had a great time that created some memories we will never forget! We had one student pray to receive Christ and will be baptized soon.
