In order to raise funds for our Christmas in August Lottie Moon emphasis, our former intern, Tim Mathis, sought to break the world record for the number of t-shirts worn at one time. The current record stands at 155 shirts. Tim made a valiant effort, putting on 81 t-shirts, ranging from size Youth Small to 4XL. The reason we had to stop was because the smaller shirts were making his arms go numb. However, we learned a lot and we might take another stab at the record sometime in the future.

Whitewater 2009

We had a great time on our Whitewater trip this year. As we did last year, we drove up to Ocoee, TN on Thursday and stayed with Outdoor Adventure Rafting Then, on Friday morning, we woke up and had our very own Whitewater Volleyball Tournament (click here to see the pics) and went tubing later in the afternoon. Then, on Saturday, we woek up early and rafted the entire Upper and Middle Ocoee River, which was over 10.5 miles and took us around 6 hours (click here to see the pics). Overall, it was a great trip and we had a great group of students that went. Thanks to everyone who made it possible!

For the past five weeks now I have been preaching a series called “This is Your Life”.  We have been focusing on areas of our lives that God has a specific plan and purpose for, but those that so often we miss the mark on.  I will be uploading the previous messages soon, but here is the most recent one about “Sin & Holiness” that addresses the reality of a Christ-follower’s struggle with sin and the way we kill sin in our lives.
